AboutHRPNL

HRPNL is a Provincial Human Resource Association for:

  • HR Practitioners
  • Consultants
  • Students studying HR
  • Academics
  • Small Business Owners
  • Others interested in management and leadership practices

The aim of HRPNL is to assist HR practitioners in meeting the challenges of today's work environment by providing opportunities to increase their personal and professional competence and knowledge. In addition to offering guidance and support to the membership, the association promotes professional development and networking. It encourages leadership development and provides a forum in which to exchange experiences and information.

HRPNL is a voting member of the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations (CCHRA) ( http://www.cchra.ca ) which was established in 1994. CCHRA is a collaborative effort of human resources associations from across Canada, which represents more than 17,000 Certified Human Resources Professionals (CHRPs) and 33,000 professionals collectively. CCHRA is Canada's national human resources council responsible for establishing and maintaining national core standards for the human resources profession, fostering communication among participating associations, becoming the recognized resource on equivalency for human resources qualifications across Canada and providing a national and international voice on human resources issues.

HRPNL is the granting body for the highly sought after Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP). The CHRP designation is a nationally recognized level of achievement within the field of human resources. The designation represents a commitment to a national standard of excellence, sets a benchmark for the practice of effective human resources, and emphasizes the strategic role of human resources management in business. The CHRP designation was developed in Canada. The designation model is respected internationally and is recognized and used in the creation of other national HR designations throughout the world.

HRPNL, through its association with CCHRA, provides a forum for its members both nationally and internationally. As a member of HRPNL, members are connected to an exclusive international HR network that has a solid structure and is well established and advanced in its strategy to enhance the profession. The network is organized first through CCHRA as the recognized national HR association representing Canada and then by continental associations. Our continental association is the North American Human Resource Management Association (NAHRMA) ( http://www.shrm.org/nahrma ). Through NAHRMA we are also connected to the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA) ( http://www.wfpma.com/nahrma.html ) which is made up of member associations from Africa, South America, North America, Asia and Europe.

It's very exciting to be working with such a diversified and highly knowledgeable and skilled executive and board of directors. They are the real thinkers and doers who, through the sharing of their expertise and insights, have made and are continuing to make HRPNL the success that it is.
